Adult Music Ensembles
prepare the music for weekly worship services. Singing, ringing, and playing opportunities are available for musicians of all ages and skill levels.
Chancel Choir - Wednesdays, 6:30- 7:45 pm
in Music Suite or Sanctuary. The Chancel Choir regularly provides music for the 11 am service and major seasonal events.
Chapel Choir — Sundays, 7:45-8:25 am
in Choral Rehearsal Room, Music Suite or Sanctuary. The Chapel Choir regularly provides music for the 9 am service and major seasonal events.
Carillon Ringers - Mondays, 5:30-6:30 pm
in Handbell room, Music Suite. The Carillon Ringers work on literature of a challenging nature. Some ringing experience is recommended.
Praise Team—Sundays, 2:00-3:30 pm
The adult praise team rehearses in the sanctuary to provide music for our Sunday morning service of worship at 9:45 am.
Senior Adult Ministry
Care Home Hymn Sing and Devotional - volunteers travel to numerous local care homes on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings to share music and devotionals - schedule published in The Messenger
Youth Music Ensembles
Paradigm Shift Youth Band—Sundays, 4:30-5:30 pm in the RedHouse (314 Elm St.) Paradigm Shift is for youth instrumentalists (7th-12th grades) interested in being “lead worshippers” for the student ministries at First UMC. Bring your instrument-of-choice (except drums…they are provided) and come jam with us!
Orchestra -
in the Music Suite as needed. Both adults and youth are welcome depending on difficulty level of music.
Children’s Music Ensembles
for 4 year-olds through 6th graders rehearse on Wednesday afternoons during the school year immediately following school. They work on beginning musicianship skills, vocal technique, handbell/chime technique, and worship participation skills using literature, techniques, and resources appropriate to their age level. The children’s ensembles participate regularly in worship and also prepare for major music ministry programs in the fall and spring.
