International Mission Ministries
On January 17th, Bill and Jerri Savuto visited our congregation and opened our eyes
to the way God was working in the lives of the missionaries and local people, providing
care to a hurting people. This small 270 bed hospital, in Maua Kenya, serves a community
of 1 million people in what truly has to be the extension of Christ's agape love.

ADVANCE PROJECTS AT MAUA METHODIST HOSPITAL, Kenya
The Global Ministries - UMC provides opportunities for spreading God’s Love around
the World to further the cause of Christ and His gospel. These opportunities are
called Advance Projects; as they are Advancing Hope in Christ’s Name. These projects
are selected by the Methodist Churches in each country as priority needs. 100%
of Advance donations support the specific projects. None is used for
administrative costs. Listed below are The Advance Projects for Maua Methodist Hospital
and others of the Methodist Church in Kenya. The Advance website:

1. MAUA HOSPITAL SERVICE FUND
♥ Your monthly gift of $15 to this Advance Project saves the life of a poor child
or orphan each year! ♥
This fund pays the medical bills of orphans, abandoned children and other poor children
and patients. Without your gifts to this fund the hospital would not be able to
continue to serve the needy. At least thirty percent of our patients cannot afford
to pay their medical bills as they are children and families of subsistence farmers.
This Advance Ministry is the most important support for the Hospital ministry here
in Kenya.

2. PASTORS’ SCHOLARSHIPS - Advance # 14453A Ministerial Training, Kenya
The Methodist Church of Kenya has not had adequate funds to train pastors in universities.
There is a critical need for pastors to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ. Each
pastor, especially the rural pastors, have many churches. The MCK needs pastors
more than ever.
3. OPERATION OUTREACH - Advance # 09610A – Operation Outreach, Maua, Kenya
Provides mobile health care, school health services, community health training in
remote villages. An Advance gift will enable us greatly expand existing mobile community
health care outreach work which takes essential preventive and curative health care
services to areas within our district where such services are not available and
the population is too poor to seek services from other sources. Services include
preventive measures and treatment for AIDS, malaria, and burns, as well as family
planning and health education.
